WHO WE ARE

N3TC Khanyisile Community Trust is a Section 18A non-profit humanitarian organization, serving the needs of Farm School Children and the Local Community in the Van Reenen area of Eastern Free State and Northern Uthukela region of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. The project includes TEN schools and caters for ± 2600 children and ± 800 adults from these rural and impoverished areas.


WHAT WE DO

  1. Assist with the health care and annual medical data information for every child and to be proactive and functional in future medical treatments for any ailments or disabilities.
  2. Maintenance to the infrastructure of school buildings, water provision, building kitchens, toilets (some of these schools had no toilet facilities) and upgrading class room facilities.
  3. Feeding scheme for children which includes food gardens, functional kitchens and a nursery.
  4. Sustainable, Vetiver arts and crafts project in the local communities.

HOW DO WE DO IT?

For our work to be sustainable for years to come, forming deep and lasting relationships with community members is essential. Which is why everything we do in the community is through relationship with individuals and other like-minded organizations and partners.


OUR FOCUS

HEALTH CARE

Annual medical record keeping for each child, assist with medical needs and educate healthcare.

  1. Eye Testing, measurements (weight & general health checks)
  2. Assisting with disabled needs and medical ailments and equipment’s.

WHERE WE WORK

N3TC Khanyisile Community Trust office is based in Van Reenen town at the Free State and KZN  border near the N3 highway. The project includes ten schools and the local communities in the Van Reenen area of Eastern Free State and Northern Uthukela region of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa.

OUR MISSION

WE EXTEND KHANYISILE’S HELPING HAND TO THESE RURAL SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITIES BY

CONTINUEING TO PLAN AND COMPLETE VARIOUS PROJETS THAT BENEFITS BOTH THE SCHOOL

AND THE COMMUNITIES SORROUNDING THE SCHOOLS, SUSTAINABLY.

Every project contributes to alleviating some of the hardships and reassert a sense of hope in the future for all learners and their families.

Our efforts are focused on: health, welfare, development, education and improving on or providing proper infrastructure.

Training that will ensure a sustainable future for the schools and the communities associated with the schools.

Communities and individuals are dramatically influenced by their support system. The N3TC Khanyisile Community Trust aims to surround the community and the schools in a caring and inclusive environment to make them aware of life’s possibilities to spite the hardships they face daily.


Keys to Success

Establish a strong network of co-operation with the schools, various departments and the community.

Establish an effective training and support program for the community to ensure sustainability of projects initiated by Khanyisile.

Hand over ownership and management of projects initiated by Khanyisile to the community.

Rekindle the children’s commitment to learning and being successful in the classroom, by empowering the community and the school. (Ref: Objectives)


Legal Entity

The N3TC Khanyisile Community Trust is a Public Benefit Organization Trust Fund to solely carry on public benefit activities as defined and referred to in Section 30, Section 10(1)(cN), Section 18A and in the ninth Schedule to the Income Tax Act No. 58 of 1962 as amended from time to time for the benefit of the beneficiaries subject to the Law and the terms and conditions laid down by the Founder and contained in the Trust Deed.

Marketing Strategy

The N3TC Khanyisile Community Trust believes in the goal of leaving no child / community behind. The goal is to raise the visibility of the program to assure that: Funding sources will support the program. Our Trustees take the responsibility of selling the benefits of and handing over the various completed / self sustainable projects to the community, to manage and benefit from.


Financial Plan

An effective communication system is in place to report project progress and financial data to the funders in the following format: Inputs – financial investment, Activities, Participation – target market reached, short term outcomes, Intermediate outcomes, long term outcomes.

We assume that by giving forgotten impoverished communities a voice and constructive help, circumstances will improve from dire to self sustainable.
